Metro Parks Tacoma hired SBC to help them determine how to become a more sustainable organization.  SBC conducted a comprehensive sustainability audit and action plan for the parks district of this medium-sized US city by:

• Calculating their carbon footprint
• Assessing their environmental impacts
• Developing guiding goals with an accompanying a set of recommended policies and actions.

We worked closely with the Metro Parks Tacoma Green Task Force  to develop a set of aspirational and short term goals and then presented them to the Park Board Commissioners for their approval and buy-in.

The Green Task Force sought our guidance to determine which sustainability actions made the most sense both financially and from an environmental impact perspective. Using our Return on Sustainability (ROS) process, SBC helped the organization develop a set of priorities and action items for implementation at every level of the organization from leadership on down.
