CSR + Communicating Your Story

SBC helped Waggener Edstrom produce its first two corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports. We ensured that the CSR report content was substantive, balanced, metrics-based and verifiable – not just another marketing piece. SBC's expertise helped Waggener Edstrom hone in on their material issues and use the Global Reporting Initiative protocols as a management tool to identify, quantify and communicate their environmental, social and economic impacts.

 

Climate Change + Carbon Footprinting

For three years now SBC has calculated the carbon footprint for Waggener Edstrom, the second-largest independent public relations firm in the world with 15 global offices in 8 countries.  We work with the firm to:

  • Determine the scope of the inventory to decide which aspects to business operations to include
  • Gather and analyze data from its energy, transportation, waste and material usage
  • Set their emissions reduction goals
  • Conduct a commuting survey to track how employees get to work and collect hundreds of employee-generated ideas for how the company could save money and reduce carbon emissions
  • Develop its internal carbon management capabilities
