Clean Technology Expertise

SBC has consulted to several renewable energy and clean tech start-ups in the Northwest region, and has become increasingly involved in efforts to galvanize and grow targeted clean technology sectors in Washington State.

Recently, an SBC team planned and facilitated a Clean Technology Retreat to catalyze the City of Seattle’s goal of becoming a national leader in this industry. Attending stakeholders included:

  • Industry Executives

  • Public Officials

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists

  • University Representatives
from organizations such as the Washington Clean Technology Alliance, the Greaters Seattle Chamber of Commerce, WA Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development, the Prosperity Partnership, Enterprise Seattle, and the Puget Sound Regional Council. Our firm used the results of this meeting to help the City develop a plan that involves both short and long-term strategies, as well as recommended action steps the Clean Tech sector could take immediately with regard to:
  • Public policy

  • Funding mechanisms

  • Research and commercialization

  • Business competitiveness

  • Workforce development and

  • Communication
SBC has also written and contributed to several industry and policy papers around clean technology:
